An art auction announced
The administration of the Facebook group “Ukrainians in Cyprus” is organising an art auction. Ukrainian artists provided lots for the auction absolutely free of charge, so the money from the sale will go entirely to our current fundraising for the armed forces of Ukraine (Mavic 3T drone with a thermal camera and a charging station for the A7408 military unit).
The auction will last from June 2 till June 9. The last bids are accepted until 10:00 p.m. on June 9. Bets are accepted in the comments under the photo on the Facebook group “Ukrainians in Cyprus”.
We are extremely grateful to the artists who have given their works for the auction.
- The painting “Blooming Ukraine” by Kateryna Shcherbakova
Watercolor, gouache, paper
40*50 cm
Made in the technique of Petrykiv painting – an artistic symbol of Ukraine.
I am Kateryna. From Kyiv. I have been living in Cyprus for more than a year. It was here that I decided to devote myself to art and chose the Petrykiv painting for this purpose – it now helps me keep in touch with home.
The Petrykiv painting is our historical and spiritual memory, Ukraine is a symbol of strength, unity and beauty.
The painting was created for a charity art auction

- Gerdans of the patriotic series “Flowers of Ukraine” by Ksenia Perepelitsa
Poppy and sunflower, as a reminder of the native land. Since ancient times, the poppy has been a talisman against the evil eye, it was considered the embodiment of youth and beauty and a symbol of family fertility. The sunflower is a symbol of the sun, work, strength and well-being, and it also represents the Motherland, the native home. As sunflower flowers turn their heads to the sun, so does a person turn his thoughts to his native land, the place where you are always welcome.

- Painting “Bavovna” (the author wished to remain anonymous).
Made with oil paints on a round canvas with a diameter of 20 cm. One-layer technique with brushes. The set includes a wooden stand (mini easel), painted white 22 cm.
The creation story is simple: the author wants more “bavovna” for the enemy, and this painting was created to visualize that wish

- Handmade felt scarf by Tatyana Ioannou.
200/65 cm
Made by the method of wet felting.
Materials: wool and curls of thin sheep; nettle, banana, eucalyptus fibers; silkworm cocoons, silk.
Soft, pleasant, delicate to the touch.

- The painting “Silent Night” by Anna Kazantsev
Canvas 40*40, acrylic
My art teacher served as Bakhmut, and wrote about how it felt there –
cold and scary. Thinking about our soldiers, who are freezing in the damp earth, I wanted to paint this picture, which would be warm and cozy, to wrap them, at least in my thoughts, with the dreamy peace they deserve.

- Handmade table lamp in Tiffany style by Elena Smirnova Aresti. Made by a person with active and positive energy.

- The poster “Ukraine is us” with the autograph of the leader of the group “Without Limits” Serhii Tanchinets
This poster was prepared by Zoya Kernasovska and with it she attended the concert of the group “Without Limits”, which took place in Limassol on May 17.
